SOURCES

Foods derived from plants rather than animals provide the highest sources of dietary Silicon (Si).

Amongst plant-based foods, whole grains have the highest level of Si, especially oats, barley, rice bran and wheat bran.

High levels of Si are also found in beer, which is made from macerated whole-grain barley from which Si is released into the beer. Mean Si levels were 19 mg/L.

However, it is not recommended that one intake of Si is obtained from beer as too high consumption of alcohol can cause other detrimental health problems.

Some root vegetables such as carrots, beetroot and radish are reasonably high in Si but the Si appears to be less available form than in other vegetables such as green beans.

Fruits generally contain low levels of Si, except for bananas and from which Si absorption appears to be unusually low, suggesting that the form of Si is poorly digestible in this food source.

One of the best source of Si is from SPRITZER natural mineral water where the Si exist in the monomeric form as OSA the bioactive and bioavailable orthosilicic acid which can be easily absorbed by the body. Test from the University of London confirmed that all the Si in SPRITZER is in the OSA form and hence bioavailable and bioactive. Below is the result:-
